Many of us tend to eat more when we are under stress, feeling sorry for ourselves, angry, anxious, guilty, bored, depressed, or watching TV. Over-eating can lead to a variety of learned emotional influences. Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia are two of the most popular types of eating disorders.

Anorexia Nervosa is a disease characterized by continual preoccupation with body weight and food. The anorexic often concludes that they are overweight, goes on a diet, and doesn't stop. This cycle concludes until the person is dangerously underweight and can lead to death

Bulimia involves the recurring episodes of eating (gorging and binging) large quantities of food, followed by self-induced vomiting and feelings of guilts, depression, and self-disgust. Bulimics often come from families that have a history of alcoholism and many also have drug and alcohol problems
